About

Tuscan Vineyard Imports
“The Next Generation of Great Wines!”

Tuscan Vineyard Imports is an American wine importer specializing in small production, artisan Italian wines. Each wine is hand selected through a rigorous vetting process by owners Sam Pignato and Carlotta Scotti Pignato, an AIS Certified Sommelier (Associazione Italiana Sommelier).

A number of our producers are certified organic or bio-dynamic. All are committed to making “natural” wines, laboring in the vineyard by hand and using little intervention in the cellar. Emphasis is on healthy ripe fruit  and expressing the “terroir”, allowing the uniqueness of each bottling to be emphasized.

Tuscan Vineyard Imports’ portfolio includes a wide range of varietals. Our core strength is Tuscany with not only Sangiovese from the well known regions of Montalcino and Chianti but also vinified as a white and as a sparkling wine! There are Tuscan surprises such as Pinot Noir, Tuscan Tempranillo, and even a Traditional Method Trebbiano awaiting your discovery. These maverick winemakers have carefully selected varietals that are well suited for their vineyard’s unique micro-climate.

Sicily is another area of strength in our portfolio. From Benanti, the iconic Etna winery to the young and vibrant Tenuta di Castellaro in the tiny island of Lipari to Gorghi Tondi, founded by a historic Sicilian winemaking family.

Some of our producers are fourth generation winemakers, others have made career changes in order to follow their passion for wine. Whether they adhere to traditional methods or chose a more modernist approach, they all share a commitment to making world class wines.

We look forward to your discovery of these extraordinary wines from the heel to the boot and invite you to taste them with us in the winemaker’s cellars.
